What is a shared license?

With our shared license you will be placed locally within our nationwide network of dealers. The placement is based on national availability. Even if you are placed with an out of state dealer, buying and selling cars out of state is perfectly legal according to the Intrastate Commerce Law.

Is the dealership setup in my name?

No. By using our Shared License, or Cooperative License you will be added to an EXISTING dealership’s LLC, which will give you the legal ability to act as a dealership representative and buy and sell cars on behalf of the dealership of which you have been assigned.

Am I liable for mistakes or violations caused by other members of the LLC?

No. The LLC corporate structure protects you from being sued civilly due to another member’s violations or crimes. You are only responsible for your actions.

Am I responsible for following local city and state laws?

Yes, you must follow all city and state laws. If you violate any state or city laws or are issued citations, (i.e. parking tickets, tolls, etc.), you will be responsible for making all payments necessary to reimburse the dealership within 3 business days for the citation.

Do I need a local business license?

No. Since you are a member of an existing dealership the dealership already has all required paperwork and licenses.

Will I have access to dealer-only auctions?

Yes. Once you join our shared license program you will have access to dealer-only auctions within 5 business days.

How can I get a list of dealer’s only auctions in my area?

There are a few ways that you can do this. AuctionAccess.com has a search locator so that you can find local and nationwide dealer-only auctions. Once you are a member you will have access to thousands of auctions. You may also visit www.manheim.com, www.Brashers.com, www.bscamerica.com, and www.adesa.com, which are a few of the largest auction houses nationwide. As soon as you join you may ask your manager to sign you up for any of the independent smaller auctions.

As a representative of one of your cooperative dealerships will I be able to sell cars to the public under the shared license program?

Absolutely. By becoming a member of one of our existing retail dealership’s you will not only be able to sell cars to the public on behalf of the dealership but have the capability to export and sell your cars to other dealers.

What is the corporate structure of the dealership that I will be assigned to?

Dealers License LLC only works with dealerships that are set up as Limited Liability Companies (LLC’s). This structure allows you to become a legal agent to buy and sell cars, while keeping all profit that you generate.

Why should I join your program instead of getting my own dealer’s license?

By joining our shared license program you will be licensed in 5 business days! It is that simple. All you have to do is complete our application, return our agency agreement, and you will be mailed your materials and start receiving your coaching and mentoring immediately. By joining our shared license program you also avoid the headache and hassles of starting up your own dealership which can range anywhere from $5,000 to $15,000.

What can I do to research your company before I join?

In every business venture it is advantageous to perform research on the company that you will be working with. Our company can provide references nationwide from previous members, current members, managers, dealership personnel, etc. Just simply ask. It is our most earnest goal to set the highest standard of professionalism, profitability, and customer service in this industry.

Do I have to sign a long-term membership contract to join?

No. At Dealers License LLC we firmly believe in freedom of choice so we operate on a month-to-month basis. All we ask is for a 15-30 day notice when you wish to terminate from the program. See also termination policy and refund policy.

What types of training do you offer?

Marketing and advertising, marketing analysis, Auction pull lists, ad posting, and unlimited access to your assigned manager/mentor.
